This is a newspaper clipping dated November 14, 1950. It is includes a recipe for Cranberry Pie and for a dessert called "Thanksgiving Centerpiece. It is in very good condition; no stains, but is yellowed from age and has a small tear where it was removed from the newspaper. A great vintage recipe collectible from times goneby.
This is a booklet published by the Culinary Arts Institute. It is titled "250 Ways To Prepare Poultry and Game Birds". It includes 21 recipes for roasted and baked chicken, broiled chicken, stewed chicken, fried chicken, creamed chicken, chicken casserole, pies and shortcakes, chicken loaves, salads, chicken sandwiches, poultry livers, ducks, geese, turkeys, pigeons and squabs, game, and miscellaneous other poultry type recipes. The copyright date is 1940 by Consolidated Book Publishers, Inc. It is in very good condition; no stains or markings. It does have one tear on the back cover and the front cover is worn on the binding. A great collectible with some yummy ideas.
This is a booklet titled "Health Secrets of Famous People". It includes facts and nutrition of famous people from Henry VIII to Red Buttons. It also includes medical practices during the Louis XIV period and the medical history of George Washington. The copyright date is 1961 by J.I. Rodale Books, Inc. It is in excellent condition; no tears, stains, or markings. The front cover does have a place in the upper right corner where a label was removed.
This is a leaflet by Kelvinator. It is titled "Kelvinator Wartime User's Guide for Electric Ranges". It includes "...ten simple things you can do to give your electric range the care it should have". There is no date of publishing, but it obviously is from the 40's due to "wartime" being used in the title. It is in excellent con- dition; no tears, stains, or markings. A great collectible from the time of WWII.
This is a recipe book by Mutual Citrus Products Company. It is titled "M.C.P. Recipe Book". It includes recipes for beverages, cocktails, salads, desserts, preserves, jams and jellies, baked goods, and measurements. The copyright date is 1940. It is in very good condition; no tears, food stains, or markings. It does have one page that is dog-eared and one page has a label for "huckleberries" glued to it. A great collectible from a great time.
This is a leaflet by the Washington Water Power Company. It is titled "Timely Cookery Suggestions". It includes 5 post-holiday recipes for Turkey casserole, Tomato Sauce, Cranberry Sauce with Caramel Apples, Old Fashioned Cherry Cake, and Prune Whip Pie. It is dated January, 1938. It is in excellent condition; no tears, markings, or stains.
This is a leaflet by the Washington Water Power Company. It is titled "Timely Electric Cookery Suggestions". It includes 4 recipes for Vanilla Ice Cream, Chocolate Ice Cream, Pecan Ice Cream, Lemon Cream Sherbet. It is dated June, 1945. It is in excellent condition; no markings or stains. It has a very tiny tear where it has been folded in half.
This is an A & P Menu Supplement booklet titled "Cook From Cans". It is dated Mid- February, 1938 and is 16 pages full of recipes for everyday of the week. There are also many ads that you will recognize from the past and the present. It is made of newspaper quality paper, therefore it is brittle and does have some tears and folds when it was stored. There are also stains from use. It is still a great collectible and fun to read the cooking practices of that time period.
