Carl shares his name with Carl Sagan, another star search. Like this famous scientist and author, my little Woodspirit is searching for stars. But rather than looking to the heavens, he's found one on the sand and one on the Baha- mian coin. Wearing their shell sun hats, Carl and his sister Stella are collecting the conch shells washed up by the waves. It's one of the mysteries of the universe that, even at the beach, Woodspirit children find an acorn and a leaf.When he is not stargazing or beach-combing, Carl likes to play Hide-and-Seek with Stella and his parents, Janet and Perry. But each of them decided, like Carl, to hide behind an amicable starfish. No wonder the games is tide!
