This is one of the many houses, buildings, figurines, and accessories in the Colonial Village Collection. It is called "Gull's Nest Lighthouse". That meant the lighthouse keeper in those years--a reclusive man named Miles O'Keefe was the "keeper of the flame" rather than simply the custodian of the structure. His was an important, if solitary job. He fueled the lamp, trimmed the wick and polished the prisms that magnified and mirrored the light. He did it faithfully, seven days a wek for fifty-five years.
