This is one of the many houses, buildings, figurines, and accessories in the Colonial Village Collection. It is called "Applegate". To accommodate them both, he built this elegant home and turned their previous home into additional office space. Since Lefton has changed ownership, this collection is no longer being produced. Therefore, this series is no longer available in the retail market except for pieces that they just happen to have in stock. It is in excellent condition; no cracks, chips, or repairs. It is marked "1994, Geo.Z. Lefton,01327,Applegate". It lights from the back which includes a cord with a nightlight-type bulb and an on/off switch for ease in turning it off and on. It is stamped with the Lefton gold crown and the red and gold foil label is also still attached. The "Deed of Title" is included. It is not in its original box. "ARDMORE HOUSE" (RETIRED-1995)

Lefton Colonial Village - Ardmore House

This is one of the many houses, buildings, figurines, and accessories in the Colonial Village Collection. It is called "Ardmore House". Color was part of the Victorian architecture. The Ardmore's corner-turreted house was a patriotic tribute with its red roof, white trim, and blue frame. When it was built, the carpenters were in a race with the stork; Olivia Ardmore was expecting their first child. The goal was for the house to be completed so the baby could be born in the second floor nursery. It was. And it was not the last to have its first view of the world through the windowed turret of the tri-colored house. Since Lefton has changed ownership, this collection is no longer being produced. Therefore, this series is no longer available in the retail market except for pieces that they just happen to have in stock. It is in excellent condition; no cracks, chips, or repairs. It has never been displayed. It is marked "1989, Geo.Z.Lefton, 07338, The Ardmore". It lights from the back which includes a cord with a night-light-type bulb and an on/off switch for ease in turning it off and on. It is stamped with the Lefton gold crown and the red and gold foil label is also attached. It measures approx- imately 7-1/2" tall, 7" wide at the base. A lovely addition to your own Christmas Village. It is in its original box. The deed of title is included.

This is one of the many houses, buildings, figurines, and accessories in the Colonial Village Collection. It is called "Village Bakery". You can feel your mouth start watering the moment the sweet smells of the Bakery reach your nose through the crisp, clean air. That was precisely what Jacques and Charlotte LeRousse intended when they opened their bake shop: to make their wares irresistible. And they are. Being French--who are known for their pastries--they set out to bring a taste of Paris to the Village. And they did. Since Lefton has changed ownership, this collection is no longer being produced. This is one of the many houses, buildings, figurines, and accessories in the Colonial Village Collection. It is called "Baldwin's Fine Jewelry". When Jacob Baldwin came to town to open a jewelry store, folks wondered if Villagers could afford to support the enterprise. A smart businessman, Jacob anticipated the affluence that was on the horizon. Just looking at the treasures in his shop windows helped create desire for "the finer things". As more people prospered, so did he. Since Lefton has changed ownership, this collection is no longer being produced. "BARBER SHOP" - (RETIRED-2000)

Lefton Colonial Village - Barber Shop

This is one of the many houses, buildings, figurines, and accessories in the Colonial Village Collection. It is called "Village Barber Shop". When you look at the neat, one-room barber shop, it conjures images of men getting their hair cut and old timers sitting around telling tales. But a rite-of-passage into manhood occurred within its walls as well. 'Til a certain age, tradition and economics dictated that boys' hair be cut at home. The Page Boy style may have had its origins in the simpli- city of the cut. But when adolescence was reached and manhood beckoned, the pilgrimage to the barber shop was a step in separating men from boys. Since Lefton has changed ownership, this collection is no longer being produced. Therefore, this series is no longer available in the retail market except for pieces that they just happen to have in stock. It is in excellent condition; no cracks, chips, or repairs. It is marked "1988, Geo.Z.Lefton, 06901". It lights from the back which includes a cord with a nightlight-type bulb and an on/off switch for ease in turning it off and on. Lefton Colonial Village - Black Sheep Tavern - sold sold

This is one of the many houses, buildings, figurines, and accessories in the Colonial Village Collection. It is called "Black Sheep Tavern". It has been personally signed by the late Mr. George Lefton. When Worthington Phipps emigrated to America, he chose Colonial Village as his home. With a small inheritance and experience in his father's London pub, he built The Black Sheep Tavern, designing it to be like and naming it for the one his dad had built. With his white apron, black garters on his short sleeves and his accent, "Worthy" brought a touch of Merrie Old England to the town. In ad- dition to imported spirits, Worthy kept faith with his heritage and served what folks called the best pot pies they'd ever tasted. "BRADLEY HOUSE" (RETIRED)

Lefton Colonial Village - Bradley House-sold sold

This is one of the many houses, buildings, figurines, and accessories in the Colonial Village Collection. It is called "Bradley House". It is a Limited Editon- 1999 building. Since Lefton has changed ownership, this collection is no longer being produced and is no longer available in the retail market except for pieces that they just happen to have in stock. The Bradley House is a Limited Edition and only 9th in the history of the Colonial Village Collection. It is also the first building to feature silhouette windows that contribute to the intimacy and warmth of this building. When the Bradley's, John and Mary, decided to build a new house in the Village, a dream provided inspiration. One night, after one of their many discussions about how to make the house they were about to build "special", Helen had a dream about lying in a bedroom with high, vaulted ceilings. She told John about her dream and said, "I wish our bedroom could be like that. So did John and that dream shaped the whole house. A year after the house was completed, Helen had another dream; that she was carrying their first child. Nine months later, that dream came true, too, when Jessica Ann was born. So the Bradley's house is truly a dreamhouse-in more ways than one! It is in excellent condition; no cracks, chips, or repairs. Lefton Colonial Village - The Brown's Book shop-sold sold

This is one of the many houses, buildings, figurines, and accessories in the Colonial Village Collection. It is called "The Brown's Book Shop". It was said that the scholarly proprietor of the bookshop, Jason Brown, had read every book he ever sold. That's unlikely, but he was known to give customers glowing reviews that made them want to buy and they were seldom disappointed with his recommendations. The shop was a little run down on the outside and a jumble inside, reflecting the owner's preoccupation with words rather than things. He loved the language and shared that affection with his patrons. On a rainy or snowy afternoon, there was no cozier place to be than at Brown's. Lefton Colonial Village - The Burnside-sold sold

This is one of the many houses, buildings, figurines, and accessories in the Colonial Village Collection. It is called "The Burnside". Of all the Village's stately homes, none was more lavish than Burnside. It was built by a master carpenter and contractor to showcase his skills and he imbued it with every embellishment he could conceive. Townsfolk wondered who in the world could possibly use all the space...much less af- ford it. The Andrews family ended the speculation. They moved in with their eleven children and two sets of grandparents! They were able to live more grandly together than they could have separately. Since Lefton has changed ownership, this col- lection is no longer being produced and is no longer available in the retail market except for pieces that they just happen to have in stock. Be it plain or fancy, economical or expensive, she could whip up one of her custom creations in next to no time from her incredible array of notions. Harriet had fancy faux flowers, exotic feathers, ribbons, bows, bangles and beads of all shapes, sizes and colors to transform a basic hat into a personal fashion state- ment. Since Lefton has changed ownership, this collection is no longer being produced. Therefore, this series is not available in the retail market except for pieces that they just happen to have in stock.
The Church of The Golden Rule had and has--as its basic tenet that if folks do unto others as they would have done unto them, the world--and the Village will be a better place.
The simple doctrine was, of course, easier said than lived... as are most of the things intended to help overcome human frailties. But it seemed to work as well or better than more complex ideologies thanks to the founder and pastor, John Jones. His common name belied a man with that most un- common of characteristics, Common Sense.

LEFTON "COLONIAL VILLAGE"
"CITY HALL" (RETIRED)

Lefton Colonial Village - City Hall - sold sold

This is one of the many houses, buildings, figurines, and accessories in the Colonial Village Collection. It is called "City Hall". By the 1890's, Colonial Village had doubled in size and outgrown the original town meeting hall. Folks felt that any new building should celebrate the village's increased size and importance. The design was not only impressive but symbolic: there were double entry doors, twin chimneys, pairs of columns and windows in twos. When something needed to be decided, there were Open Meetings. Just about everyone attended in a demonstration of true particip- ative democracy that exists to this day. Since Lefton has changed ownership, this collection is no longer being produced. Therefore, this series is no longer available in the retail market except for pieces that they just happen to have in stock. It is in excellent condition; no cracks, chips, or repairs. It is marked "1987, Geo.Z.Lefton,06340". It lights from the back which includes a cord with a nightlight-type bulb and an on/off switch for ease in turning it off and on. It is stamped with the Lefton gold crown and the red and gold foil label is also attached. The "Deed of Title" is not included. It measures approximately 6-1/2" tall, 7-1/4" wide at the base. A lovely addition to your own Christmas Village.

"COBB'S BOOTERY" (RETIRED)

Lefton Colonial Village - Cobb's Bootery-Retired-sold sold

This is one of the many houses, buildings, figurines, and accessories in the Colonial Village Collection. It is called "Cobb's Bootery". When your shoes or boots needed to be mended or replaced, Sam Cobb's Bootery was the place to go. He was Colonial Village's first shoemaker and, for awhile, the only one. Sam was so skilled at his craft that he could cut, bast, stitch and sole a perfect pair in a day. However, a month long waiting list suggested you not wait 'til the last minute. As the town grew, he prospered. Demand increased to the point he couldn't keep up with, and that's when he began to stock and sell ready-mades. Since Lefton has changed ownership, this col- lection is no longer being produced. Therefore, this series is no longer available in the retail market except for pieces that they just happen to have in stock. It is in excellent condition; no cracks, chips, or repairs. It is marked "1988, Geo.Z.Lefton, 06903". It lights from the back which includes a cord with a nightlight-type bulb and an on/off switch for ease in turning it off and on. It is stamped with the Lefton gold crown and the red and gold foil label is also still attached. The "Deed of Title" is not available. It measures approximately 6-1/2" tall, 7-1/2" wide at the base. "COFFEE & TEA SHOPPE" (RETIRED)

Lefton Colonial Village - Coffee & Tea Shoppe - Retired - SOLD sold

This is one of the many houses, buildings, figurines, and accessories in the Colonial Village Collection. It is called the "Coffee & Tea Shoppe". On a cold, blustery winter day, there was nothing that could take the chill off like stopping for a steaming cup of Emily's specialty blended tea or coffee. More than likely, someone you knew would be doing the same, so the warmth of conversation added to the experience. To keep things from becoming over-heated, two topics were taboo; politics and religion. It was a house rule then and it still is now. And most folks insist that the secret blends that Emily passed down are still the best they've ever tasted. Since Lefton has changed ownership, this collection is no longer being produced. Therefore, this series is no longer available in the retail market except for pieces that they just happen to have in stock. It is in excellent condition; no cracks, chips, or repairs. It is marked "1989, Geo.Z.Lefton,Coffee Shop,07342". It lights from the back which includes a cord with a nightlight-type bulb and an on/off switch for ease in turning it off and on. Following the precedents for safety and security, it was solidly constructed of brick with a firesafe slate roof. "COUNTY COURTHOUSE" (RETIRED)

Lefton Colonial Village - County Courthouse - Retired

This is one of the many houses, buildings, figurines, and accessories in the Colonial Village Collection. It is called "County Courthouse". Locating the County Courthouse in the Village brought special status to the community. People who came seeking justice also boosted the local economy. Even if they were just in town for the day, they'd more than likely take a meal in one of the restaurants. And, if their legal business lasted longer, they'd have to stay at the hotel, inn or one of several homes that took in overnight guests. The building itself was architecturally imposing. It reflected the impor- tance of the judicial functions that went on inside. Since Lefton has changed ownership, this collection is no longer being produced. Therefore, this series is no longer available in the retail market except for pieces that they just happen to have in stock. It is in excellent condition; no cracks, chips, or repairs.
